We're Hypothesizing and Experimenting!

The last three weeks we've been learning the words "hypothesis" and "experiment".  We've been practicing these words as we weigh different items, test things to see if they're magnetic, and this week, find out what floats and what sinks!  This week each student can earn a soaring point by bringing in one item that will float and one item that will sink.   

Scripture Memory -

Attached you will find the new memory verse list (updated as of 9-23-08).  Keep a copy in your car, on your refrigerator, or another convenient location that will remind you and your student to practice their verse often.  Students will recite their verses in class each Friday, and can earn a car for their memory verse train for each completed verse.  There are also some extra credit verses on the list that students may complete for extra cars.  The student with the longest train at the end of the school year will win the Scripture Memory award!

Reading Program -

The kindergarten reading program is designed to foster your child's love of literacy by encouraging you and your child to read together every day.  Record just fifteen minutes of reading daily on the attached reading program form; your child will earn three soaring points for every five days of reading.  Reading program forms will also earn your child credits toward monthly Book-It pizza awards.

Math Program -

The kindergarten math program is designed to aid your child's number skills development by providing opportunities to review new concepts.  Record just fifteen minutes of any number skills practice on the attached reading program form; your child will earn three soaring points for every five days of practice.
